Dorm Monitor Position

 

As you probably have heard Menaul School is re-establishing its boarding school program for the fall of 2010.  We are seeking a dorm monitor /relief dorm parent to work two days/nights a week supervising 15 or so girls in Barber Hall.  This person would support the main dorm parent by covering their days off.  In exchange they would have a small apartment, meals at the dining hall and a stipend.  Attached is a description of the dorm parent position that explains what the job will entail:

 

DORM PARENT

The Menaul School Dorm Parent/ Residential Program Coordinator must be a person of good character willing and able to manage the girl’s dormitory and related programs.  This person will supervise students when they are not in class.  Responsibilities include creating a positive living and learning environment, insuring a safe and clean residence, providing emotional support, communicating with family and the Menaul School community, designing and implementing weekend activities and other duties as appropriate.  In short, it means being a “parent” for about 15 young women.
